I have worked as a professional journalist since 2000 at companies including daily and weekly newspapers and trade publications. Also, I spent two and a half years as Web editor of a business-to-business publication's Web site. As a result, I am able to edit and write for a variety of audiences.

My past employers include a subsidiary of The Miami Herald, The Gainesville (Fla.) Sun and 1105 Media, which encompasses Federal Computer Week and Washington Technology magazines.

In May 2008, I decided to pursue a full-time freelance career. To that end, I have worked as a freelance copy editor and researcher at Congressional Quarterly, and my work has been published in several area publications.

My educational background also speaks to my commitment to journalism. In May 2006, I earned a master's degree in journalism and public affairs from American University. Six years earlier, I earned a bachelor's degree in journalism, with a specialization in editing, from the University of Florida.

When I am not writing or editing, you can find me teaching group cycle classes at several local gyms. For a complete resume, please contact me.
